Colic in numbers

Colic kills horses. Every single day.

In the US, colic is the second most common cause of death in horses – only old age is more common.

Denmark · estimate

420–820horses/year

≈ 1–2 horses die of colic every day

USA · estimate

≈ 29.000horses/year

≈ 79 horses a day – one dot per horse

Fatality

of all colic cases end with the horse dying. Among insured Swedish horses with serious colic: 27%.

Sources: USDA APHIS NAHMS Equine ’98 and Traub-Dargatz et al., JAVMA 2001 (4.2 colic events per 100 horses per year, 11% fatal; colic second only to old age as a cause of death) · Egenvall et al., J Vet Intern Med 2008 (24 colic deaths per 10,000 horse-years, Sweden; 27% of serious cases) · Horse population: approx. 176,850 registered horses in Denmark at end of 2024 (passport registrations) and approx. 6.2 million in the US (FAOSTAT 2024). Figures for Denmark and the US are estimates calculated from these rates.

How it works

Three steps. Then Anisaver takes the night watch.

You don't need to be technical. The camera sits in the stable – the app does the rest.

Set up the camera

A camera with night vision goes high up in the corner of the stable. We'll help you choose it and place it right.

Anisaver learns your horse

The AI learns what's normal for your horse in particular: when it eats, rests and lies down. No two horses are alike.

03

You get an alert

If behaviour departs from the normal, you get a notification with a short video clip. If nobody responds, we escalate to SMS and phone calls.

01 For horse owners

Sleep soundly. We only wake you when it matters.

You can't stand in the stable all night. Anisaver can. The app compares against your horse's own normal behaviour – not an average horse.

  • Behaviour that may point to colic. Repeated rolling, pawing, looking at the flank, lying down unusually long.
  • Restlessness and stress. Circling the stable, lying down and getting up again and again, unable to settle.
  • Not eating. Not spending its usual time at the hay or the manger.
  • Live view and clips. Look into the stable from your sofa and see exactly what happened.
  • Share the watch. Put the yard owner, a fellow livery or a neighbour on the call list.

What Anisaver watches for

What you'd look for yourself if you were in the stable.

Rolling

The horse rolls – especially several times in a row or at an unusual time.

Pawing

Repeated pawing with a front leg, which many horses do when they have a tummy ache.

Looking at the flank

The horse turns its head towards its belly or nips at its flank again and again.

Lying down for long

Lies down much longer than usual – or lies down and gets up many times.

Restlessness and stress

Walks round and round the stable, stretches or can't settle.

Not eating

Not spending its usual time at the hay or the manger.

Foaling starting

The mare's behaviour in the foaling stable changes – you get an early warning.

Someone in the stable

Someone is in the stable at a time when it should be quiet.

Anisaver warns about behaviour that may indicate discomfort. The app makes no diagnosis and does not replace your vet.

The alert doesn't give up

No alert gets lost in a locked phone.

If you don't respond, Anisaver moves on to the next step – and to the next person on the call list.

  1. 1
    Push notification

With a short video clip and a live view of the stable.

  2. 2
    SMS

    If nobody acknowledges the alert.

  3. 3
    Phone call

Anisaver keeps calling until someone answers.

  4. 4
    Next on the call list

E.g. the yard owner, a neighbour or another livery owner.

02 For breeders & studs

Be there when the foal arrives.

Foaling season means long nights. Anisaver follows the mare's behaviour in the foaling stable and alerts you when she shows signs of foaling – so you can sleep between checks.

  • Foaling alert with early warning. Restlessness, repeatedly lying down and getting up, and changed behaviour are picked up early.
  • Nothing on the mare. Camera-based – nothing to stitch in or strap onto her.
  • The whole foaling team on the call list. Whoever is closest takes it.
  • Follow the foal through its first days. See rest, activity and whether it gets up to suckle.

03 For riding schools, livery & competition yards

The whole yard. One calm overview.

Many horses, many owners and changing shifts. Anisaver brings every stable into one app, so staff see what matters first – and owners can keep up with their own horse.

  • Every stable on one screen. Green means calm – anything that needs a check jumps to the top.
  • Rota and roles. Decide who gets the alerts, and when.
  • Someone in the yard after hours. Get an alert if someone is in the yard when it should be dark and quiet.
  • Share with owners and the vet. Each owner gets access to their own horse, and clips can be shared with the vet.

An extra pair of eyes

Anisaver doesn't replace your own checks. It keeps watch while you sleep, work or are away – and only speaks up when something is different from what's normal for your horse.

Questions & answers

Honest answers for horse people.

Got more questions? Email john@kggroup.io.

What does pre-sale mean?

When you reserve now, you lock in a price of $89 per horse for 1 year of Anisaver. The normal price is $299 per horse for 1 year (about $25/month) – with pre-sale you pay about $7/month. Reserving is free and comes with no obligation – you pay nothing now, only when the app goes live. We'll contact you before we open.

When does the app go live?

We're working on the iOS and Android launch right now. Everyone with a reservation will hear from us before Anisaver opens – and before anything has to be paid.

Can Anisaver tell if my horse has colic?

No. Anisaver warns about behaviour that may indicate discomfort – such as repeated rolling or pawing – but makes no diagnosis and doesn't replace your vet. If you suspect colic, always call your vet.

Does Anisaver catch everything?

No – and no system can promise that. Anisaver comes on top of your usual checks and doesn't replace them. Night vision can be disrupted by things like cobwebs, dust or backlight, which is why we help you place the camera correctly.

What if my horse just rolls because it feels like it?

Lots of horses do. That's why Anisaver learns your horse's normal behaviour and reacts to what's out of the ordinary. If you know an alert is a false alarm, you can “snooze” it so you're not woken unnecessarily.

Which camera do I need?

A camera with night vision in the stable – usually one per stable, mounted high in the corner. Anisaver is designed for standard IP cameras, and we'll help you choose and place it.

Does it suit breeders, riding schools and yards with lots of stables?

Yes. Anisaver is built both for the individual horse owner and for yards with many stables, rotas and several people on the call list. Choose “Breeder / Riding school” and the number of horses (1–10) in the form. If you have more than 10 horses, choose “More than 10” and you'll get a business quote.

What happens to video and my data?

We only store what's needed: events and short clips, kept in the EU and processed under GDPR. Your contact details from the pre-sale are only used to contact you about Anisaver.

How do I cancel my reservation?

Email john@kggroup.io and we'll delete it. You haven't paid anything.
